  • Aerial photografyTHE AERIAL ARCHIVE 4 out of 5 stars
This Austrian site from the Institute for Prehistory and Protohistory of the University of Vienna
is not only very pleasing to the eye, it's also a very good archaeological site, providing very valuable information for the layman. Especially since aerial archaeology does not receive much attention anywhere else.

  • Archeologie in het nieuws 4 out of 5 stars
A very good Dutch site with a monthly overview of archaeological news.

  • Archäologie Online 3 of 5 stars
A good German site with lots of links.

  • Archeologie Startpagina 4 out of 5 stars
Another very good Dutch site with all possible links to pages with an archaeological content.

  • ArchNet 4 out of 5 stars
This American site is also very professional and offers insight into a wide range of archeological subjects.

  • ArchWEB 2,5 of 5 stars
A nice but somewhat neglected (latest update 1998) Dutch website from the Foundation for Dutch Archaeology (SNA).

  • The Association for Roman Archaeology (ARA) 2,5 of 5 stars
The ARA is a charity concerned with the preservation of Roman heritage.

  • Council for British Archaeology 4 out of 5 stars
This Internet Information Service offers a wide range of information on several British archaeological topics, ranging from Internet Archaeology, British Archaeology, Research Reports to Occasional Papers and many links to other services.
  • Keith’s archaeology pages 5 of 5 stars
Keith Matthews is a Chester-based archaeologist, and his site is well worth visiting. Apart from his published sources, especially his brilliant pages on ‘Fringe’ or ‘Cult’ Archaeology are a 'must-visit'!

  • South Cadbury Environs project 4 of 5 stars
Specific objectives include investigation of settlement and landscape history in the study area, focusing upon its evolution from Mesolithic/Neolithic and Bronze Age foundations and through the 1st millennium BC, the Iron Age/Romano-British transition, and to the emergence of Early Medieval society. This should interest the Dark Ages-loving visitor.

  • Time Team 4 out of 5 stars
This British television programme solves archaeological mysteries, rescue digs and all kind of archaeological requests in just three days time. The scientific standerd is very high, as usual on Channel 4 documentaries, despite the fact that it's hosted by Tony 'Baldrick' Robinson!
